Rosabelle Believe
No matter how hard I try, I can’t free myself
Sure, I can pick a lock, but I can’t truly escape
You can sink me in a milk can, you can bury me alive
But I can hold my breath a long time
Cecilia, I miss you more every day
All I want to do is talk for a while
These self proclaimed psychics and mediums are frauds
They don’t know where we go when we’re gone
If you hear me whisper in your sleep
“Rosabelle Believe”
Then believe
No one knows where we go when we die
We’re all left here wondering why
Light a candle for me every Halloween
Use the flame to raise me from my grave
But don’t let me keep you waiting, I’ll try not to let you down
But I might not be able to leave the ground
If you hear me whisper in your sleep
“Rosabelle Believe”
Then believe, please believe

Walk in Time
At seven years old
He put it in your hands
Squeeze it tight and hold it like a man
So you point it up to the sky
Try to miss everything that comes by
Some things never turn out like they’re planned
Building up walls
Too high to be climbed
Living by rules never fully defined
Try to please everyone but yourself
Walking in the shadow of somebody else
Walk in Time, young man, Walk in Time
Shadow, I am black
You lie down
In the cool green grass
Laying beneath a shade tree that won’t last
And you look to the branches above
Realize now the depths of love
Now that your world is spinning twice as fast
Shadow, I am black
Here beside you

Special
If you ask me how I roll
It’s with the sky above and the ocean below
And when I fall off I keep my head down
Sand in my shorts, salt in my mouth
You’re so different ‘cause you like to laugh
Life’s so simple so it’s never bad
Our love is held by the strongest bond
‘Cause we’ve got something Special
We’ve got something Special
We’ve got something Special goin’ on
And people ask me all the time
What was the best part of my life?
I say, ‘anytime that’s spent with you’
From the morning ‘til each day is through
We’re never tempted to ever stray
The way that we make up, the way that we play
‘Cause we’ve got something Special
We’ve got something Special
We’ve got something Special goin’ on
The years, they come and then they go
The kids have grown up and they want to know
How we survived all the things that went on
‘Cause we’ve got something Special
We’ve got something Special
We’ve got something Special goin’ on

Young Again
I had forgot what it’s like to dream
When you’re young
I had forgot how you love everything
When you’re young
Day in day out
It chips away at your mind
Day in day out
You feel the weight of your life
But I’ve got you to make me Young Again
Walk on my feet ‘til we fall to the floor
And start to laugh
Hold up this doll and let’s pretend he’s our friend
I can you make you laugh, I can you make you laugh
Life’s so simple
If you want it to be
But all that you learn
Won’t set you free
But I’ve got you to make me Young Again
You play guitar, and I’ll play the drums
Just follow along
These are some songs by some bands I hope you’ll like
Can you follow along?
Day in day out
It chips away at your mind
Day in day out
You feel the weight of your life
But I’ve got you to make me Young Again

Uphill Both Ways
Your first words let me know you’d arrived
A primal scream to say you’re finally alive
I was scared-my life was changing too
They all said you’d do just what you would do
Growin’ up we gave you everything that we could
What I never had just like anyone would
It’s never enough-no, not for kids these days
They all said you’d say just what you’d say
So much I could tell you
(Would I listen?)
If you were near me
(Something’s missing)
I’ve been everywhere that you hope to go
Can you hear me?
Didn’t have it so easy
(It’s so hard)
When I was your age
(I’m not like you are)
I walked everywhere back and forth
Uphill Both Ways
Seems like life and death everything you do
And just one mistake forever follows you
You’re never wrong at least that’s what you say
Wish I knew half of what I knew back in the day
So much I could tell you
(Would I listen?)
If you were near me
(Something’s missing)
I’ve been everywhere that you hope to go
Can you hear me?
Didn’t have it so easy
(It’s so hard)
When I was your age
(I’m not like you are)
I walked everywhere back and forth
Uphill Both Ways
Your first words let me know you’d survived
And your sleek outside masked a rough ride
You’re just starting out, thinking you’re at the end
Reach down and find the will to begin again
So much I could tell you
(Would I listen?)
If you were near me
(Something’s missing)
I’ve been everywhere that you hope to go
Can you hear me?
Didn’t have it so easy
(It’s so hard)
When I was your age
(I’m not like you are)
I walked everywhere back and forth

Fortune Cookie
The answer came with dinner
In the cookie on the plate
I broke it open and read inside
That paper said that I’d be rich beyond my dreams
It was up to me to enjoy the ride
I called my boss up and said I’m moving on
‘cause my fortune was on the way
He said he was sorry to lose me as things were taking off
What else could he say?
I stopped at the store to get the kids some milk
I had a couple of dollars change
Picked some numbers, got into the lottery
My itchy palms were feeling strange
With that ticket I always think of what could be
If that jackpot would be mine
You hear about the things that money doesn’t bring
Hell, just the money would be fine
I’ve been working for a long time now
I know things don’t come for free
Now I’ve been dreaming for a while my friends
And it’s got the best of me
Been mailing back those entry forms and buying magazines
They say the winning number’s mine
Lately I’ve been wondering if I’m doing the right thing
‘cause nothing’s happened in all this time
And I’ve been wondering what I can do myself
Never thought of that before
What if all this time I was really in control?
Maybe I could have done some more

Brand New Life
Ten miles out of Texas and I begin to feel the heat
As I walk along a dusty road that’s burning at my feet
Home’s a long way off now but I can find my way
It’s been a long time and I’ve got a lot of things to say
For years I was forgotten most pretend they didn’t know
The things that I was into, the places I would go
The people I was seein’, man, I had some fun
But I’ve paid a high price for things I ain’t even done
But I’ve got a woman who’s waiting for me
She’s gonna be my wife
The governor done pardoned me, the warden, well, he set me free
I’ve got a Brand New Life
Well I know a lot of people but they ain’t friends of mine
A lot of people come and go and take up too much time
I’ve had to spend a lot of years just staring at four walls
In the end there’s only one you can depend on at all
But I’ve got a woman who’s waiting for me
She’s gonna be my wife
The governor done pardoned me, the warden, well, he set me free
I’ve got a Brand New Life

What Gives?
What Gives?
When’s it gonna fall?
The sky looks the same
Since the day that we broke down the walls
So What Gives?
Will we turn to stone?
‘Cause there’s a bunch of happy people
Who just want to be left alone
I won’t be scared
Of the reign of terror
No, not any more
Just ‘cause you think
We should all be the same
Doesn’t mean that
I am someone to hate?
So What Gives?
Do you think we’re gonna die?
Will our almighty Lord cause the
Sun and the moon to collide?
So What Gives?
Is it really worth the fight?
When there’s a bunch of crazy people
Who will always lean to the right
I won’t be scared
Of the reign of terror
No, not any more
Do, do, do ,do, (etc)
I won’t be scared
Of the reign of terror
No, not any more

Goodnight Montana
It’s finally the weekend and we’re headed for the bar
Our own best band is playing at 11:00 PM they start
And here comes Buddy, here comes Jerry on guitar
The crowd is getting restless as they call out his name
With a black trench coat and 10 gallon hat he finally takes the stage
Here comes a legend, here comes the last of the grown men
Goodnight Montana
I hope the devil didn’t lie
Goodnight Montana
Goodnight
Goodnight Montana
I know that everything will be alright
Goodnight Montana
Goodnight
Some find life worth living some just live to die
For those that keep reaching for something that something is never too high
There goes a legend, there goes the last of the grown men
Goodnight Montana
I hope the devil didn’t lie
Goodnight Montana
Goodnight
Goodnight Montana
I know that everything will be alright
Goodnight Montana
Goodnight

A Walk through the Desert
Heading up the avenue
How are you? I’m glad to meet you
“Jesus saves,” I heard you say
Don’t know but that might be true
Was that the paper in your hand?
It’s blowing up the sidewalk
It’s just a little way down Paradise
Where everything is made alright
There’s lady liberty at last
I stand beneath that famous skyline
It’s a roller coaster at the top
On the ground we’re moving fast
Just when we’ve sailed the seven seas
We take a walk through history
Salvation
Salvation
Salvation lies ahead
The man said what will this be in a hundred years?
Why it’ll be sand like it is right now
But he was wrong, this place has everything
Everything that can be allowed
Now I’m sitting in a French café
I’ll order me a margarita
Looking up at that light blue sky
The sunset always looks this way
Living big without a care
All actions don’t have consequences
We solved the riddle of the Sphinx
Now we’ve won it’s only fair
We built the greatest destination
There is no here here, there’s only there.
Salvation
Salvation
Salvation lies ahead
Take A Walk Through the Desert
And keep those bandits fed
