Wookie Garcia is a four-piece rock band from San Diego County, CA. The band formed in 2008 and were soon playing out in various Southern California clubs. The musicians all have solid backgrounds in the San Diego scene, playing in original bands Usual Suspects, Junction 8, and Hatfield Rain throughout the ‘90’s and into the ‘00’s.  The initial line-up consisted of Kyle Ince on guitar/harmonica/vocals, Mark Tucker on bass, Brian Sharkey on vocals, and Jason Sumner-LaRussa on drums. Sumner-LaRussa left the band and was replaced by Neil Anders Matthews in 2022.

The group has released three albums to date, both as downloads and on CD: Songs from Ray’s Garage in 2012; Stand the Fall in 2019; and on November 24 the band's third album 4 Days in the Valley was released. Produced by Rami Jaffee of the Foo Fighters, the record contains 12 new original songs. We're eagerly awaiting what folks think this one sounds like. Songs from Ray’s Garage has a ‘smaller’ sound that highlights the songs and sounds quite like the band performing on stage, except for the addition of piano and organ parts. On the other hand, Stand the Fall has a ‘bigger’ sound, more prominent keys, violin and more harmony vocals.
